Julia De Simone (RJ, 1982) is a film director and producer. Partner of Mirada Films, she has been dedicated to film production since 2003. Master in Contemporary Art Studies (UFF) and graduated in Creative Documentary (Barcelona). "Formosa Beach" (Tiger Rotterdam, 2024) is her debut fiction feature, a Brazil-Portugal co-production, awarded by Hubert Bals Fund and World Cinema Fund. She directed and produced several films screened and awarded at film festivals including IDFA, New York, Rotterdam, BAFICI, Cartagena, Uruguay, Havana, FICUNAM, Tiradentes, Festival do Rio, Mostra de São Paulo, among others.
